I slightly did not see this coming, but I was in utter denial because I could NOT bear the idea of Twilight becoming an alicorn. BUT shit happens. I found out about this around noon before class and knew I had to draw her with wings somehow and this was the answer. Her dress is not accurate though as there aren't many sufficient concepts of it just yet. If you'd like to know more about this then just look at this page [link]

I am sort of excited for this, but at the same time I think it's just too much. But I can't say just yet so let me know what you think. I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Nice artwork. :)

I got very excited when I saw Twilight with wings. It's cool that she can now fly, and I like their brand new shape. (Rainbow's reaction and line is heart-warming.) I think she deserves it and that it makes sense that it happens. I'm just not too comfortable with her height change. I'd prefer if she was exactly the same except for the wings.

I'm feeling the "End of Twilight's body as we know it" blues, but I'm also absolutely pleased with that beautiful episode. And am hoping that she's not an alicorn ALL the time, and if she is, that I can watch the new episodes without finding it weird. Not to mention the old episodes. She's still herself there, but when I make a season marathon, knowing what's about to happen to her, will I think about it as I watch it, or will that part of my brain/memories be asleep most of the time?

Not very likely. She was already her full size, and Shining Armor is male, so he's larger by nature.

i am talking about height. and horn size. most of his body mass is muscle

I know what you meant. I was saying that Twilight was already her maximum adult size, so she didn't age with her transformation.

Well, kind of. The mayor, for example, who is old, is the same size as the Mane6. Fleur-de-lis is an exception, which proves the size of a pony is not an exact science.

ya i think alicorn can grow more. but also live longer. so if twilght was as big as she was able to at a uniorn. but now she is a younger and smaller alicorn

I agree for the most part that Twilight certainly deserved to be among the greats of Equestria. I was more confused if anything, but excited all at once. The episode went wonderfully and must have put a lot of haters in their place. People just can't accept change. And honestly, I didn't notice Twilight's height difference.

All that's left to wonder is how season 4 will play out and like you said, her alicorn characteristics would be temporary, but as we see it now it's very unlikely. I'm interested to see how she will confront things now with her new abilities. All we can do is wait.
